Schroeder's bowling talents, developed in Buffalo, were good enough to earn him spots on outstanding teams in St. Louis (Falstaffs) and Detroit (Strohs). The 1976 USBC Open Championships Classic singles champ is a charter member of the PBA and has been a member of the AMF Staff of Champions for 30 years. He served for years as bowling director for Special Olympics International.
