Web sites, even very basic ones, provide avenues for direct and personal contact with members, bowling center proprietors and coaches.

An association's Web site should be personalized to reflect its members' interests, needs and concerns. It could be used to post photos of tournament winners (if permission is granted), as a source for downloadable forms, or even online tournament registration.

Suggested Web site content

  • League and tournament details
  • Weekly/monthly high score or achievement updates
  • Award ceremony information
  • Bowling center events
  • Upcoming association events
  • Coaching tips
  • Scholarship opportunities for youth
  • Community events such as the USBC Bowl for the Cure
  • Links to bowl.com and other bowling related sites

Web site design options

  • Design your own: For a thorough overview on what Web design involves and all things to consider in the process:
    http://www.webdesignfromscratch.com/
  • Use a template: If you do not wish to code a Web site from scratch, a good place to find free and purchasable pre-constructed site templates is:
    http://www.freesitetemplates.com/
  • Hire a pro: Using a professional designer is the most expensive option and you will generally be required to host with that person/firm, an additional expense.

Every Web site needs to be hosted on a web server...
