Because of the tremendous success enjoyed on the lanes in recent years, many bowlers have qualified as USBC Actively Engaged Athletes ("AEA"). Their achievements in amateur bowling competition have earned them this special place within the United States Bowling Congress. The USBC bylaws define an "AEA" as an individual age 18 or older and having at least one of the following qualifications:
- Member of Team USA in the past 10 years
- Finished in the top five percent in all-events at the 2004 WIBC Championship Tournament (now the USBC Women's Championships)
- Finished in the top five percent in all-events in the 2004 ABC Championships Tournament (now the USBC Open Championships)
- Top 50 percent of all amateur male finishers and 50 percent of all female finishers in the 2004 USA Junior Gold Bowling National Championships (now the USBC Junior Gold Championships)
As an "AEA", these athletes are eligible to represent fellow athletes as delegates to the USBC Convention. As an "AEA", they have the same voting privileges as an association delegate and will be voting at the Annual Meeting on key issues facing our sport.

Athletes Delegates
IMPORTANT:
Athletes who decide to attend the meeting as an "AEA" and are already signed up as a local association delegate, need to contact their association to have their name removed from their delegate list. This is important because the Association Delegate overrides the "AEA" status with each WinLABS submittal to USBC Headquarters. A delegate can attend under one status only. |
