Long Island University - invites applications for the Part-time position (no benefits) of Head Women's Bowling Coach: The selected individual will have the responsibility and opportunity to build a Division I program from the beginning, with the inaugural season to begin in 2008-09.  Responsible for all aspects of a Division I bowling program, including, but not limited to, coaching, recruiting, travel management, academic monitoring and securing practice facilities. Must have knowledge of and adhere to all NCAA, LIU and the NEC rules and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and prior coaching experience or high level playing experience required. Asst. Bowling Coach

SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY, a NCAA Division I institution located in Huntsville, TX has an opening for a full-time Head Women's Bowling Coach to direct a start-up program to beginning competition in the 2009-10 school year.

The individual selected will serve as Women's Head Bowling Coach and be responsible for all total activities, operations, and policies of the bowling program. Represents the Athletic Department on matters related to bowling at conference, state and national levels.

Primary responsibilities include directing, planning and implementing the overall operation of the bowling program. Recommends and manages a budget within University fiscal policies. Operates programs within university, state, and national guidelines. Fosters bowling program that promotes a positive image of the University and its mission. Manages available athletic scholarships within requirements of the conference. Recruits quality student-athletes in adequate numbers to insure that team performance is capable of meeting institutional goals. Monitors all team travel arrangements. Works closely with assistant coaches to assure their understanding and compliance of associations and conference rules and regulations. Work includes responsibility for planning interrelated activities, and coordinating bowling staff functions. The exercise of judgment is an important factor in the performance of duties since undesirable consequences or losses may result from errors in judgment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience required are a Master's Degree in Kinesiology or related field with a minimum of five (5) years professional coaching experience in respective sport. Or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities.

Other specifications includeknowledge and understanding of bowling rules, compliance regulations, and conference and NCAA rules and policies. May be required to teach in an academic program at the discretion of the Athletic Director. Will be required to organize and direct two fund raising events or camps a year. Expected to develop an appropriate rapport with community and University personnel. Must comply with all NCAA and Southland Conference rules and regulations.
