Chelsea
, 16, is a high school bowler in the Dallas area. She began bowling in fifth grade and started her current high school season in October 2006 with a 187 average. Last season Chelsea's team took first place at state. "Bowling is such a challenge for me, but I constantly find reassurance because every ball I throw assures me that I can do almost the same thing consistently and be satisfied," she said. "It brings a secure new perspective to my crazy world of dancing, adventures, and flat out teenage life."
Felicia Goll
,
17, is a senior at Regina High School in Michigan. An accomplished bowler, Felicia averages 208 this season and has two 300 games and a 725 high series to her credit. She made All-State the past three years and has competed in the Teen Masters and USBC Junior Gold tournaments. In her spare time, she volunteers at animal shelters, homeless shelters and youth bowling clinics. “Bowling has taught me how to win and how to lose,” Felicia said. “It has taught me how to make decisions and perform in a pressure situation.”
Austin Herter
, 17, is a senior at Chelsea High School in Michigan. He has bowled all four years for his high school team and is a regular local tournament bowler. Last year, Austin averaged 222 and was ranked the No. 1 bowler in the Washawee Conference. He plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University next year and bowl for the school. In his spare time, Austin likes to work on cars, golf and hang out with friends.
Brian Hunt
, 17, is a senior at Father Gabriel Richard High School in Michigan. He began his final high school bowling season in early December and his school’s program is only in its second year -- Brian was named team captain both years. He averages 230 and last year his team took all-conference and ninth at state. Brian is senior class president and also likes fishing, tennis, golf and drama. “I enjoy everything about bowling,” Brian said. “There are so many variables; it's like solving a puzzle every time you bowl.”
Greg Pizl
, 15, is a sophomore at Antigo High School in Wisconsin. Last year, he took fourth place in singles at the state bowling championships and holds a 279 high game and 760 series. Greg was the only freshman to be named to the 2005-06 Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team, for which he received a $1,000 scholarship. Greg began bowling at age 4 and currently holds a spot on Antigo's varsity team. When he's not bowling, Greg's a goalie on his school's soccer team and plays video games, especially Madden NFL.
Max Wendel
, 17, is a senior at Westview High School in Oregon. He has bowled for his school for three years but began bowling at age 9 thanks to the encouragement of his dad. Max enjoys bowling for Westview because of the team environment. "I like to bowl for my school because of the rush of a competitive sport," Max said. "And I love being on a team with good bowlers that represents my school." Max's final high school bowling season began in November 2006.
