Melanie DeCarlo is a 17-year-old senior at LaSalle-Peru Township High School in Illinois. She has a 207 bowling average and took 16th at the 2007 Teen Masters in Las Vegas; she also traveled to Holland in 2006 to bowl with the People to People Sports Ambassador program. Melanie started bowling at age 2 and also participates in student council, the foreign language club and more. "In high school bowling, you meet so many people that you'd never expect to meet, and you learn to get along with people from places you've never heard of when you go to matches," Melanie said. Her high school bowling season starts in early November. |
Ryan Dobie is a 17-year-old junior at Kenton Ridge High School in Springfield, Ohio. Bowling has been a tradition in Ryan's family for generations (starting with his great-grandfather) and Ryan himself began bowling at age 2. He finished first in doubles and second in all-events at last year's Ohio state tournament and currently averages 227 in his high school league. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys computers, playing Xbox and watching football. Ryan's high school bowling season started in November 2007.

Kevin Tatrow is a 17-year-old senior at Wichita Heights High School in Wichita, Kan. Last season, Kevin averaged 221 and bowled the only 800 series (801) in Kansas high school bowling; he also won the Greater Wichita Athletic League individual and team bowling championships. He's been bowling since age 9 and likes to spend his free time on the computer, listening to music and watching sports. "High school bowling brings out the competitive spirit of bowlers and spectators, which makes it much more enjoyable," Kevin said. "It's an incredible experience." Kevin's high school bowling season starts in January.
