• RMU men, FSU women take Lehigh titles

    The Robert Morris-Illinois men picked up another major victory, while the Florida State women pulled out narrow win at the 2012 Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic.

    A Tier I event on the United States Bowling Congress Collegiate schedule, the Leigh Valley Collegiate Classic was contested at AMF Parkway Lanes in Allentown, Pa.

    RESULTS: Men | Women

    RMU rolled to the men's title just two days after winning the Keystone Quaker Classic. The Robert Morris squad finished with a total pinfall of 9,265 to top second-place finishers Morehead State by 282 pins. Davenport finished third with 8,921.

    On the women's side, Florida State prevented a sweep by Robert Morris by finishing with 8,278 to take a narrow eight-pin victory. RMU took second with 8,270, while Wright State was third with 8,204.

    For the second time in a week, Robert Morris' Marshall Kent took the top individual honors for the men with a five-game total of 1,127 (225.4 average). Davenport's Charlie Brown was second with 1,099, while Notre Dame-Ohio's Kevin Donovan was third with 1,092.

    Brittney Shrider helped lead Florida State to the victory with a five-game individual total of 1,023 (204.6 average) to lead the women. Marian's Kayla Rhoades was second with 996, while Notre Dame-Ohio's Jerracah Heibel finished third with 966.
