    READING, Pa. - Two-time NCAA Women's Bowling national champions Maryland Eastern Shore defeated Vanderbilt, 4-1, to win the Kutztown Invitational on Sunday.

    The win capped off a big weekend for the Hawks as they led qualifying, went 14-1 in matches and took home the title. The victory in the championship match avenged a first-round bracket loss to Vanderbilt to start the day Sunday.

    UMES led the two days of qualifying with 10,873, which included six four-game Baker matches and six five-player team matches. Vanderbilt was the second highest qualifier with 10,689.

    Jessica Earnest of Vanderbilt earned tournament MVP honors with a six-game total of 1,417. Wisconsin-Whitewater's Michelle Wallenberg finished second with 1,342, while Vanderbilt's Robyn Renslow was third with 1,300.

    The Kutztown Invitational featured 28 NCAA teams in one of the biggest NCAA events of the season. BowlTV provided free live coverage of the entire event.
