    USBC working on WinLABS issue

    USBC is continuing to work on correcting an issue created when Microsoft recently made an update to all Windows Operating Systems that has impacted the WinLABS database program.

    The update has affected most local association databases, but state associations are not affected.
    Because of the Microsoft changes, "Read Error" messages will appear when WinLABS users try to Send/Receive Data, or process National Data Changes. USBC is working to correct the issue.

    Some users could face an additional problem in this situation if their systems become locked because of a failure to transmit for 20 days.  USBC will be providing a specific daily password to address this secondary problem and unlock user systems.  These passwords will be sent to local association managers by e-mail in a special Association Operation e-News communication.

    USBC is working to modify WinLABS to function correctly with Microsoft's latest changes and provide a long-term solution for users. USBC will continue to provide updates on the situation through Association Operation e-News and BOWL.com.
