We at USBC want to extend a heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving to all of our valued members; our blessings are numerous! We especially want to thank all of you who have participated in making donations to the victims of the multiple hurricanes that took place this year. With your help, USBC and the Bowling Proprietors Association of America raised more than $110,000 to aid hurricane victims.

Tune in to USBC Masters Nov. 20

Be sure to tune in to the ESPN finals of the USBC Masters Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Four bowlers will battle for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles and the $100,000 first prize at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, Wis.

The Masters will be conducted Nov. 15-20 and is the fourth stop and first major of the 2005-06 Denny’s PBA Tour. An expected field of 500 of the world’s best professional and amateur bowlers will include such stars as Walter Ray Williams Jr., Pete Weber, Tommy Jones, Patrick Allen, Norm Duke, Brian Voss and many more.

USBC Women’s Championships Reservations Still Being Accepted

Entries are being accepted for the 2006 USBC Women’s Championships, presented by Tri-Properties (formerly the WIBC Championship Tournament) in Reno, Nev. The tournament is scheduled to run March 16- July 2, 2006 (unless extended).

March and April dates are still available to experience the beautiful Sierra Country in the spring and bowl in the newly-renovated National Bowling Stadium.

New in Reno this year: the railroad tracks are underground and there is a new event center that will feature special entertainment throughout the tournament.

Reservations will be accepted through the tournament phone line at (414) 423-9006 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT, Mon.-Fri. Reservations also will be accepted through online requests, fax or mail.

USBC Recognition Award Nominations Due Dec. 15

Nominations for USBC awards recognizing people who have made important contributions to bowling at different levels will be accepted until Dec. 15.

Recipients of the USBC Joyce Deitch Trailblazer Award (formerly the Women's International Bowling Congress Joyce Deitch Trailblazer Award), USBC Helen Baker Outstanding Association Volunteer Award (formerly the WIBC Helen Baker Award) and USBC Proprietor of the Year Award (formerly the WIBC Proprietor of the Year Award) will be announced in January. They will be honored during the inaugural USBC Convention April 19-22 in Orlando, Fla.

“Earlene” Joins “Earl” in the USBC Collectible Bear Series

“Earlene” is the second in USBC’s series of limited edition collectible bears created in honor of the late, great bowling star, Earl Anthony. Proceeds from the sale of both the 2006 Earlene and the 2005 Earl bears benefit USBC’s Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund. Individual bears may be purchased for $10 each plus shipping/handling.
