Welcome to your 2007-08 United States Bowling Congress season!
This season you can expect USBC will continue to bring the best of bowling. As the national governing body for bowling, USBC ensures the integrity and protects the future of the sport. USBC works year-round to provide quality services to our members and to set and enforce standards that improve bowling.
We are proud to share with you the new online version of the USBC Playing Rules & Commonly Asked Questions and USBC League Operations Handbook. In addition to the Adobe Acrobat file you are accustomed to on bowl.com, we have upgraded to this more user-friendly and interactive version, which will make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. However, you will still be able to print both the Playing Rules and the League Operations Manual.
The Playing Rules has also undergone some major changes this year. We have expanded the Commonly Asked Questions and moved them from the back of the book to follow the related rule. As a result, some of the rules have been moved and have new numbers. The rules affected are:
Chapter 2: General Playing Rules
Rule 2b – moved to Rule 3.
Rules 3a through 3g – moved to 2b through 2h.
Rule 16a – moved to 17f, renumbered 16b as 16
Chapter 4: League Rules
Rule 106d – Moved to 109c
Rule 109c – Moved to 110b
Rule 111a – Combined with 111d and numbers changed from 111b – 111g to 111a – 111f
Rule 114a – Divided into 2 rules 114a and 114b
Rule 114b – Moved to 104c
Rule 114c – Moved to 104d
We are confident that these changes will make finding what you are looking for easier. However, if after searching the rule book you still need a question answered, the USBC Rules team is here to help you. We can be reached between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. CST at (800) 514-BOWL ext. 3155 or by e-mail at rules@bowl.com.
Good Luck in the upcoming season.
