    The safety of USBC Youth is an issue of critical importance to USBC, and one that parents will naturally have questions about. Additionally, proprietors, coaches or prospective volunteers will have questions regarding enrollment and other aspects of the RVRP Program.   • Registered Volunteer Program Registered Volunteer Program

    The USBC Registered Volunteer Program will ensure that all volunteers who have contact with USBC youth bowlers are qualified to do so. It includes a mandatory criminal background screening designed to remove and/or discourage those who might harm our kids. It will require all Registered Volunteers to abide by a Code of Conduct which defines appropriate and inappropriate behavior. And it will allow USBC to identify and communicate with thousands of volunteers.

  • Registered Volunteer Program Payment Methods

    Registered Volunteers will make payment directly to the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) by using Visa or Master Card. Registered Volunteers will each pay $20 for the actual screening and $1.25 for administrative fees. There may be additional screening fees if your state or county charges NCSI additional fees. If the information provided is incomplete or incorrect an additional charge to re-screen may be necessary. NCSI will e-mail the individual at the e-mail address provided.

  • Registered Volunteer Program Background Screening

    The USBC Registered Volunteer Program will accomplish three very important goals:

    1. Ensure that all volunteers who have contact with USBC youth bowlers are qualified to do so. It includes a mandatory criminal background screening designed to remove and/or discourage those who might harm our youth.
    1. Require all Registered Volunteers to abide by a Code of Conduct which defines appropriate and inappropriate behavior.
    2. Allow USBC to identify and communicate with thousands of volunteers.

    This new program has critical consequences. It is part of a nationwide movement among all youth organizations, sports and otherwise. In cooperation with the National Council of Youth Sports (the leading national youth sports service organization) and the National Center for Safety Initiatives (the only national background screening service specifically dedicated to the protection of children), USBC has designed a state-of-the-art model other organizations facing the same challenges will be invited to use.

    RVP is an optional program for every bowling center operator. Both USBC and the Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA) encourage each proprietor (that has a youth program) to participate. Proprietors choosing to participate should complete and return a Center Enrollment Form—indicating their intention to participate or not—to USBC Headquarters by fax at 817-385-8262 or at by mail at: United States Bowling Congress, 621 Six Flags Dr., Arlington, TX 76011.

    All volunteers who clear the background screening process will receive an ID badge and lanyard from USBC that they must wear when working with USBC Youth.

    Participating proprietors will ensure that only approved volunteers (Green Lighted) are working with USBC youth and are wearing a lanyard and current RVP ID cards. They should also instruct appropriate volunteers to visit bowl.com where the volunteers may start the background screening process.
