USBC ball motion study chosen for international technical conference
The recently completed USBC bowling ball motion study, which was started to help protect the future of the sport, has been selected as a presentation topic for the 52nd Annual Fall Technical Conference in October in Mesa, Ariz.

A two-year study of bowling ball motion, which USBC undertook in cooperation with bowling ball manufacturing companies, has been completed. USBC is setting a new manufacturing specification for bowling balls based on the chemistry of the cover material.

The United States Bowling Congress has developed advanced technology that can measure grip and foot pressure to improve the collection of motion data throughout a bowler's approach. The pioneering systems are expected to have a significant impact on coaching in the sport of bowling.
Discovery Channel Canada is producing a story about USBC's robotic bowling ball thrower "Harry" and how he interacts with other USBC technology for bowling research. The story is scheduled to air later this month in Europe, Australia, South America and Asia.
USBC associations are asked to complete their bowling center inspections as soon as possible to give centers enough time to make any necessary corrections.
