Proprietors do have the choice of how they run these leagues. There are no new format rules for PBA Experience leagues. They can follow the PBA Tour if they choose, run one oil pattern for the length of the league or switch from one pattern to another as often as they want. Like standard or other Sport Bowling leagues, the proprietor has the freedom to use any format their bowlers prefer.

Sport Bowling continues to evolve as we look at every aspect of the program to determine how to make it better while continuing our commitment to the credibility of the sport and the advancement of the serious bowler.

With this in mind, we have made an adjustment to the Sport Bowling lane condition ratio specifications. As you may know, current specifications allow for ratios ranging between 2:1 and 3:1 depending on lane surface type and age. Starting in January, the ratio will be 3:1 for all centers regardless of the lane surface. The new Sport Bowling ratio specification allows for all of the Denny’s PBA Tour oil patterns to be eligible for Sport Bowling competition.
