2007 Pan American Games

July 23-26, 2007
Barra Bowling Center
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Bowling received medal status from the Pan American Sports Organization Council in November 1986 with the first competition as a medal sport being held in 1991 in Havana, Cuba. Bowling was a demonstration sport in the 1983 Pan American Games in Caracas, Venezuela. Several years in advance, the host country for the Pan American Games selects at least 15 medal-status sports from an approved list of 28 medal-status sports (including bowling). By this selection, the host country determines which sports will be included in that Pan American Games session. The bowling competition at the 2007 Pan American Games consists of doubles and singles events totaling four days.

Team USA representatives will look add to that total behind the experience of Milligan, Asbaty and Page as well as the promise of Schaub, who will be making his international debut. Milligan is the only U.S. player with prior Pan American Games experience - she won the four-player women's team gold medal in 1999. This will be her first Team USA event since the 1999 World Championships. Page, who won the Masters gold medal at the Men's American Zone Championships in May as well as four medals at the 2006 Men's World Championships, and Schaub are both lefthanders. In addition, Schaub uses a two-handed delivery.
