USBC Junior Gold Championships and USBC Youth Open Championships Bowling Ball Express Shipping Guidelines

Please be sure to read all guidelines before you begin.

Special Bowling Ball Express shipping instructions for the 2008 Junior Gold Championships and Youth Open Championships

Since Friday is the 4th of July, there will be no UPS delivery of equipment to the BBE on that day. To ensure that your equipment arrives on time for you to have it for Junior Gold's Saturday and Sunday practice sessions, we advise you to ship your equipment far enough in advance so you can use an expected delivery date in Detroit of July 2, 2008.

Also be advised that BBE services will be available during limited hours Sunday, July 13 – Wednesday, July 16 for return shipments. Availability times will be posted on site at Sterling Lanes.

All shipments must be in cardboard boxes. Do not use packing peanuts for shipping protection. All bowling balls need to be placed in a two-box system to protect them from damage during shipment. This means each ball must be placed in a single-ball box and then placed in the larger outer box/four-ball case.
Please do not ship bowling balls in bowling ball bags. Any bags shipped with bowling balls inside will not be eligible for claims and will be charged an additional handling fee of $50.00. Two ball tote bags are exempt from this rule. 
For shipping bags, get a box that best matches the size of your ball bag. Visit your local pro shop for empty boxes. 
All prepaid UPS labels must be obtained from this Web site. Complete step-by-step instructions can be found by clicking on the "Ship Now" link at the bottom of this page.
To utilize UPS Ground Service, print your UPS label 8-12 business days before your scheduled team squad. If you ship 1-6 business days before your team squad, you must upgrade to 3rd Day, 2nd Day, or Next day in order for your shipment to make your team squad. Do not print your UPS Label more than 12 business days before your team event. 
UPS shipping fees are based on your zip code, weight, size of box and “Planned Delivery Date.”
USBC is self-insured and insurance fees are based on the “Declared Value.”
USBC includes coverage up to $500 per package. Additional insurance up to $1,200 can be purchased for an extra $5. There is no insurance available for packages over $1,200. The additional $5 will not be included in your shipping cost. USBC management will make all final decisions regarding BBE insurance claims. 

Our late package guarantee program will replace all equipment that is late or lost by UPS. The value of replacement is based on “Declared Value” of late or lost package(s). There is no cash value to claims. All equipment will be replaced or repaired. To be eligible for this program you must comply with all of the following items:

  • Drop your package(s) off with adequate time allowed for delivery. Use Next Day, 2nd Day, 3rd Day or allow at least eight business days before your team date for Ground Service.
  • Do Not ship bowling balls in bowling bags.
  • Ship using the Bowling Ball Express account for USBC Youth national events.
USBC’s handling fee is included in every package. The shipping price you see when you print your label is the total price you will pay when you arrive in Detroit.  To ensure prompt service please print out your receipt when you print your label, and bring it with you when you pick up your package(s).
All packages shipped in and out of the venue using anything besides the Bowling Ball Express account also will be subject to a handling fee of $25.00 per package.

All shipments are billed freight collect to USBC. Customers will pay UPS shipping fees and all USBC handling fees before receiving their package(s).  
Outgoing shipments from the venues in Sterling Heights (Detroit) will be charged at time of shipment. 
Drop off all packages to your local UPS Hub or UPS authorized store. There should not be any fee to ship a package with a prepaid UPS label. If a store tries to charge you, please contact Bowling Ball Express at (505) 245-7447. There will be a charge for boxes and cushion materials purchased from the store.
