Learning to Lead

Online resources make it easy for kids to organize
local and state Youth Leaders programs

"I want to do it!"

"I wish there were more youth tournaments held around here."

"We need more new opportunities for kids who bowl in this area!"

If you've ever thought or voiced any of these feelings, now it's easier than ever to make a difference in your local or state youth bowling community!  USBC's Youth Leaders program gives young people opportunities to strengthen their leadership skills, suggest changes and add more excitement to youth bowling programs.

Promotion, education and involvement are key.

Getting a Youth Leader program going at your local USBC association level requires drive, initiative and persistence – qualities that all good leaders need to be successful.

Once you've got a group of your fellow youth bowlers active in the program, great things can happen! Your Youth Leaders group could work to establish additional scholarship opportunities, create new tournament experiences, develop more social networking and increase coaching availability for USBC Youth members of all ages.

Online resources now are available to help get a program started or to rejuvenate an existing Youth Leader program within your USBC association. Here are direct links to each of these materials, along with a brief description of how they can be used.
