Meet Adam Mitchell

Adam Mitchell

Adam Mitchell, who bowls in the Chantilly Youth Seniors League at Bowl America Chantilly in Chantilly, Va., is a member of the board of directors for the Nation's Capital Area USBC and serves on the association's Youth Committee.

The 17-year-old became involved as a Youth Leader at the center level a couple of years ago. When the Nation's Capital Area USBC was formed from the merger of three local bowling associations last year, Adam vowed to become involved.

"I want to provide more enjoyment for youth bowlers in leagues and tournaments, obtain equal representation for youth bowlers and be a voice for them," Adam said.

Adam is one of 40 directors of the association, which serves 2,751 youth bowlers and 27,587 adult bowlers in Washington, D.C., and the surrounding area. It's the third-largest USBC local association – only the Metro Detroit USBC and Chicagoland USBC serve more members.

A vocal participant in many of the Youth Leaders webinars conducted online by USBC's Education department, Adam also has shared his views and advice with youth and adults who want to launch or improve Youth Leader programs in their communities.

Adam's love for the game shows in his performance on and off the lanes. A senior at Westfield High School and a member of the school's bowling club, Adam bowled a 706 series during school competition. He also has a 300 game to his credit, bowled almost three years ago during his Saturday morning league.
