Free Web conferences for Youth Leaders set for Jan. 29, Feb. 7

Ever wish that adults would take your ideas more seriously? That kids in your area would have more chances to earn bowling scholarships or have a say in USBC Youth programming? Here’s your chance to learn how you can make a difference.

Five Easy Steps to Enhance Leadership Skills,” the first in a series of free interactive 90-minute Web conferences for USBC Youth members who are Youth Leaders, will be conducted on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. CST and on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. CST.

Interested USBC Youth members can register to participate in either of the two sessions by calling the Bowling Information Center toll-free at (800) 514-BOWL, ext. 3161. (The BIC is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST, but is closed Dec. 26-30 for the holidays.)

Once you’re signed up, you’ll receive conference sign-on instructions and handout materials.

This new Youth Leaders training series is ideal for USBC Youth members who want to plan special projects for their area youth bowlers, bring more bowlers into the fun of organized play and serve their fellow members as mentors or tournament directors. Additional course topics and formats are in development and will be announced on bowl.com as they become available.

To join in any of the Web conferences, registered participants must have access to a computer with Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP, or NT and access to the Internet. A separate phone line, independent from the computer’s Internet access, is required for the audio portion of the class.
