About The Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund was created as a memorial to the legendary USBC/Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer who died in 2001. The Earl Anthony scholarship program is designed to help young bowlers pursue advanced education on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement and community service rather than emphasis on bowling skill and accomplishments.

Each Anthony winner receives a one-year, $5,000 scholarship.

Selected in 2004 were: Larisa Doherty, St. Paul Park , Minn. ; Steven Fernandez, Ridgefield Park , N.J. ; Elyse Herz, Armonk , N.Y. ; Dustin Fell, Aurora , Ill. ; and Catrin Mills, Hot Springs , Ark.

The 2005 winners were: Jacqueline Juliano, Wood Dale, Ill. ; John Lee, Milton-Freewater , Ore. ; Steven Nellis, Statesville , N.C. ; Christina Sudduth, Roseburg , Ore. ; and Andrew Wardyn, Broken Bow, Neb.

The Earl Anthony Scholarship Fund is administered by the United States Bowling Congress SMART program under 501(c)3 non-profit rules. Contributions to the Anthony Scholarship Fund are tax-deductible.
