USBC Youth Scholarship Funds

Creating a Future for our Youth
The USBC Youth Scholarship Funds were created so that together we can help more young bowlers achieve their goals on and off the lanes through a guaranteed pool of scholarship dollars. A portion of the general USBC Youth Scholarship Fund has been designated as the Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund, which grows from donations made in the memory of one of the sport's greatest ambassadors.

Donating to the general USBC Youth Scholarship Fund or the Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund is easy - use the online form to authorize a donation charged to your MasterCard or Visa account.

If you have any questions or would like to donate through other means, please contact USBC at (800) 514-BOWL, ext. 3168 or via e-mail.
Recognition
Donations to the USBC Youth Scholarship Fund and the Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship Fund are recognized on the Gift Giving Tree displayed in the lobby of the United States Bowling Congress headquarters in Greendale, Wis.

Each leaf on the tree personally recognizes a donor's contribution of $100 or more. Donations of any size are tracked; if multiple donations are made over time, the accumulative total is recognized. As a donor's contribution total grows, the donor's leaf is embellished with stars to indicate the total contribution.

The United States Bowling Congress is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Your donations may be tax deductible.
Scholarships do make a difference
"Without the value of bowling scholarships, I don't know if I would have been able to go on to Wichita State and compete. Scholarships definitely made life easier. I cherish the degree (I earned) more than anything. I learned so many great life lessons while I attended college."

- Sean Rash, titlist and exempt player on the Denny's PBA Tour, athlete representative on the USBC Board of Directors, past member of Junior Team USA and Team USA, member of Wichita State University's 2003 national championship team
"It is satisfying to know that I helped my parents put me through school based on what I love to do - bowl! One of the beauties of bowling is that a youth bowler as young as 5 years old can earn scholarship money for college. You cannot say that about many other sports. That's just one great thing that makes bowling so wonderful. There are an amazing amount of opportunities within bowling."

- Diandra Asbaty, USBC Youth spokesperson, athlete representative on the USBC Board of Directors, past member of Junior Team USA, now in her ninth year as a member of Team USA, winner of the 2006 QubicaAMF World Cup, member of the 1999 and 2001 national championship teams at the University of Nebraska
"Growing up I have always believed that bowling was fun to do. I have been very fortunate to be given a wonderful opportunity to earn money for college. By racking up scholarships, (bowlers have) a chance to concentrate on their studies and not have to worry about working full time while going to school."

- Amanda Burgoyne, collegiate bowler on the two-time NCAA championship team at the University of Nebraska, past member of Junior Team USA, now in her fourth year as a member of Team USA
"Bowling scholarships are the best. College is ridiculously expensive and can almost be impossible to afford. Having scholarship money takes away a lot of stress. College is not easy and anything that takes some stress off is a gift."

- P.J. Haggerty, collegiate bowler for Fresno State University, past member of Junior Team USA, current member of Team USA
"Going to college out of state can be very expensive. The scholarship money I earned through youth tournaments relieved the financial burden on my family and enabled me to attend the college of my choice."

- Derek Eoff, USBC Sport Bowling coordinator, current member of Team USA
