Howard was a steady performer in local competition as well as the USBC Open Championships. While not winning a title, he owns three seconds and seven other finishes in the top 10. He went to Detroit from Kalamazoo to join the Strohs team early in his career, then returned to work in a bowling establishment in Kalamazoo.
