Gallo wins PBA regional title

Fayetteville, N.C. –
Frank Gallo Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., defeated Jeff Bellinger of Columbia, S.C., 236-181, to win the Professional Bowlers Association South Region Fayetteville Senior Open at LaFayette Lanes Sunday.

The win was Gallo’s second career regional title and followed a strong performance in finishing fifth in Franklin, Va., a week earlier. Gallo earned $1,600 for the win while Bellinger earned $1000 as the runner-up.

Gallo defeated Danny Weikel of Dallas, N.C., 245-235, and Bellinger defeated Vince Honeycutt of Buford, Ga., 214-194, in the semifinal round. Weikel and Honeycutt each earned $800 as semifinal round losers.

The PBA South Region’s next tournament will be the North Ft. Myers (Fla.) Senior Open at All Star Lanes April 13-15.
