LAS VEGAS - Dick Baker of Henderson, Nev., averaged more than 254 on the way to a pair of doubles victories at the International Senior Open at Red Rock Resort Casino Lanes on Tuesday.

Baker rolled games of 249, 299 and 237 for a day-high 785 series and teamed with Char Hammel of Las Vegas (664) to win Mixed Doubles with a 1,449 total and added a 743 set with Rudy Moreno of Reno, Nev. (680) to win Men's Doubles with a 1,423 effort.

USBC Hall of Famers Robin Romeo of Newhall, Calif., and Lucy Sandelin of Tampa, Fla., won Women's Doubles with 1,352. Each winning team took home $1,000.

Bowlers from eight countries and six U.S. states are in Las Vegas to compete in the week-long event, which is endorsed by the United States Bowling Congress, World Tenpin Bowling Association and the Japan Bowling Congress.

There will be a break in the competition Wednesday, so visiting bowlers can enjoy the sites of Las Vegas, attend product demonstrations that will allow them to try out some of the newest bowling balls on the market or attend a bowling clinic hosted by USBC Director of Coaching Certification and Development Carolyn Dorin-Ballard.

The tournament runs through Saturday, and bowlers will compete for medals and a total prize fund of more than $12,000 in singles, doubles, team and Masters competition.

Singles and doubles each consisted of three games, with re-entries allowed. Thursday's team event will feature four-player teams of any combination, with their six-games totals determining the winners. Re-entries also are allowed in team.

At the end of the week, the top six players in each division will advance to Masters match play. Standings will be based on 12-game totals and the top prize in each category is $500.
