Senior Queens begins Friday at ITRC Lucas Wiseman October 22, 2013 ARLINGTON, Texas - Hall of Famer Anne Marie Duggan of Edmond, Okla., will look to defend her title when the top senior women bowlers in the country take part in the 2013 United States Bowling Congress Senior Queens starting Friday.The 14th annual Senior Queens, which is presented by Storm, begins Friday at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington and will be broadcast live on BOWL.com's BowlTV.Duggan won the title last year at the ITRC, defeating fellow Hall of Famer Dana Miller-Mackie, 199-173, in the title match.The event begins Friday with the first of three days of qualifying. After 15 games of qualifying, the field will be cut to the top 16 for the double-elimination match-play bracket.As the reigning champion, Duggan is guaranteed a spot in the match-play bracket but will bowl qualifying to try and improve her seeding in the bracket."I've been practicing a lot, trying to get in as many games as I can, and working out so I can stay physically in shape since that seems to be more important the older I get," Duggan said. "It's a nice advantage to not have to worry about my scores in qualifying. I'm just going to pretend I'm bowling qualifying for real and see if I can get a good feel for the lanes."BowlTV will have free live streaming coverage of every round of the competition, starting Friday at 11 a.m. Eastern with the opening squad of qualifying.The stepladder finals of the Senior Queens will be broadcast live on BowlTV on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.The Senior Queens also caps the Senior Women's Triple Crown Series presented by The Orleans.
